Bio
Warm Erasers were birthed at four in the morning while chewing on Scrabble pieces (and deciding that they taste rather nice) when a friend pulled a bunch of erasers out of her pocket and noted that she had "a bunch of warm erasers." Nick Wilson and Jade Stephens were witnesses to this occurence and decided to form a band using that name.

In addition to Wilson (guitar, vocals) and Stephens (bass), the original lineup included Matt Piedl (guitar), Garrett Johnson (keyboards) and Brian Hedgepeth (drums). The stream-of-conscious lyrical content composed by Piedl and Wilson probably raised at least three eyebrows. A five-song demo was recorded by Wilson in December 2005, and it really doesn't sound like the live band at all, but is ok anyway. The band continued to play shows around Warren Wilson College, where all attended, and they developed a humble local following.

Johnson left the band in the spring of 2006 and was replaced by Brian Jones. (As a rather embarassing footnote, the band won the college cover contest with a risque cover of "Toxic" by Britney Spears with Wilson wearing a miniskirt and singing in falsetto. There's a video of it somewhere.) Jones left to study abroad in Guatemela a couple of months later, and Johnson returned to the band. Then summer vacation came and the members dispersed. In the fall, Wilson moved to Japan to study for a semester, leaving both Warm Erasers and Carrot Eaters in limbo.

The band regrouped in spring of 2007, without a keyboard player or a permanent drummmer, but with Shaina Kapeluck on violin. Josh Nash, Jack Anderson and Hedgepeth all played drums for the band over the next few months, but shows were sparse. Instead, the band focused on making recordings. Upon Wilson's graduation and subsequent return to his hometown of Dallas, and Stephens's relocation to Chicago, the band returned to limbo with a half-completed album that might someday see the light of day.
